My Nutrisystem Journey Week 1 Wrap Up

So first things first: Weigh In….

Does not

Last week I weighed in at 155.  This week,  I am down 3 lbs at 152! I am satisfied with this amount. As I said last week. The scale is just a tool to see how the program is working. I do not want to lose too much too soon. So three pounds is just the right amount.

The Food

I am pleasantly surprised. Being such a picky eater, there  were only two items I disliked to the point that I was unable to finish. These would be the macaroni and turkey sausage and the ham omelet.  The chicken enchilada wasn’t the greatest either but it was palatable enough. The good news is being able to eat as many non-starchy vegetables as I like! And I love a good salad…every day!

I am happy to be done with the 7 day’s worth of shakes. Though they taste okay, I got a bit gassy from them. I am sorry if that is TMI, but if you are seriously interested in how this works, I feel I must be completely honest.

Nutrisystem’s Uniquely Yours program is the most expensive one they offer,  but worth it because I am able to select the foods I like. So next month, I know what I won’t be ordering again. That  being said, it only amounts to about $11.96 a day. However, keep in mind that you will also be purchasing produce and dairy on the side. At this time, I believe I am on the right path with Nutrisystem.

My Clothes

Yeah, they are starting to feel a little bit looser. Noticeably so. I have received many comments at work today. I wore my favorite faux leather pants with an asymmetrical top and long leather boots. It is so much fun unfolding my peacock feathers!

My Activities

I stuck to my commitment to do Yoga and walk daily. I also took not one, but two Hot Yoga classes this past week and thought I was going to be too sore the next day but was not at all.

A few times, I  found myself trying to come up with excuses to get out of doing something only to realize that I really wanted to do it. So I did!

I also seem to be more clear-minded. I do know that sugar causes one to be foggy-headed. I have had such good focus that I have to drag myself away from work because I am feeling good about the results of my research. Today, I thought I was just too tired to finish out the day but then forgot that I was tired and the next thing I knew, it was 4:15 PM. Time to go home and enjoy the company of my husband and our fur family!

Mindful Eating

I have found this personally to be one of the most difficult concepts to follow. This is mainly due to me being a workaholic. It is recommended that one does not watch TV, read, surf the inter-web or work while eating.

This is so as to participate in mindful eating.This way we are fully able to use our five senses:

  • We see the bountiful nutrition in all its beauty.
  • We smell the delightful scent of home cooked food.
  • We hear the crunch of  a willful bite into fresh produce.
  • We taste the savory or sweetness of God’s provision.
  • We feel the fullness of a satisfying meal.
